Partner Attorney Park Sang-jin Appointed as Director of the Trust Lawyers Association of the Korean Bar Association

Hello. This is JONJAE Law Firm.

Sangjin Park, a partner attorney at JONJAE Law Firm, has been officially appointed as a director of the Trust Lawyers Association under the Korean Bar Association (Chairman Kim Jeong-wook).

What is the KBA Trust Lawyers Association?

The Trust Lawyers Association is a specialized organization established under the Korean Bar Association to support the activation of lawyers' trust-related work, foster practical capabilities, and promote exchanges among lawyers engaged in trust practice.

In recent years, the trust system has attracted attention among wealthy individuals as one of the most creative tools for asset management and succession. However, while various trust structures are emerging alongside the development of blockchain and quantum computing technologies, there are also concerns that in Korea's civil-law system, they cannot be operated as smoothly as in common-law countries. To respond to this reality, the Korean Bar Association established the Trust Lawyers Association as a specialized body to lead research on and improvement of the trust system.

Recognized for Achievements in Trust Law Research

Attorney Sangjin Park graduated from the College of Law at Korea University and completed the foreign researcher program at the Graduate School of Law at Waseda University in Japan. He then passed the Judicial Examination and completed the 37th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. Based on his international expertise spanning the Korean and Japanese legal communities, he has built extensive practical experience in corporate and civil matters.

In particular, at JONJAE Law Firm he handles highly specialized trust matters such as will consulting and testamentary trust consulting. In the field of testamentary trusts, whose demand is growing rapidly in an aging society, Attorney Park's professional and differentiated consulting has been well received by clients seeking to resolve inheritance and asset management issues. These research and practical achievements led to his appointment as a director.

"I will contribute to protecting the public's assets"

Attorney Park said, "As a director of the KBA Trust Lawyers Association, I will work to further strengthen lawyers' trust expertise and contribute to providing more efficient and stable legal solutions for protecting the public's assets and addressing inheritance issues." He also plans to develop various trust types, structures, and products together with fellow members, providing practical help to lawyers' business efforts as well.

JONJAE Law Firm expects that through Attorney Park's appointment, it will be able to provide more specialized and systematic legal services in the trust field, and plans to fully support Attorney Park's active efforts and further enhancement of his expertise.
