1. Complaint Filed on Suspicion of Forcible Indecent Assault

On April 22, 2024, Jonjae Law Firm filed a complaint with Bundang Police Station against Mr. Yoo Young-jae, the former husband of actress Sunwoo Eun-sook, on behalf of Ms. A, Sunwoo Eun-sook's older sister, on suspicion of forcible indecent assault. Mr. Yoo Young-jae is accused of making inappropriate physical contact with Ms. A on five occasions since 2023.

Actress Sunwoo Eun-sook, after hearing of the above victimization from Ms. A, was so shocked that she nearly fainted, and this became the decisive reason for her decision to divorce Mr. Yoo Young-jae.

2. Filing a Marriage Annulment Lawsuit

After divorcing through mediation on April 3, 2024, actress Sunwoo Eun-sook learned through media reports on the 5th of the same month that Mr. Yoo Young-jae had married while concealing the fact that he had been in a de facto marriage.

In cases involving marriage entered into while concealing a de facto marital relationship, the Supreme Court has held that "the defendant's prior de facto marriage was a very important factor in the plaintiff's decision to marry," and has recognized annulment of the marriage (see Supreme Court Decision 2015므654, decided February 18, 2016; Seoul Family Court Decision 2013드단83889, decided July 9, 2014, etc.).

Based on this, Jonjae Law Firm, on behalf of actress Sunwoo Eun-sook, filed a marriage annulment lawsuit with the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court on April 22, 2024.

3. Warning of Legal Action Against Malicious False Comments

In connection with actress Sunwoo Eun-sook's divorce, malicious false comments are being proliferated on various YouTube channels and community boards. We plan to take legal action with a zero-tolerance policy against acts that mislead public opinion based on false information and inflict secondary harm on the victim.

Please immediately cease the secondary harm against the victim.
