OMEGA X, Agrees to Terminate Exclusive Contract with Former Agency — All Legal Disputes Concluded

K-POP idol group OMEGA X(OMEGA X) has amicably terminated its exclusive contract with its former agency Spire Entertainment, with which it had been in conflict over allegations of sexual harassment and workplace abuse, and has decided to end all related legal disputes.

From the Press Conference to the Settlement — 6 Months Without Taking a Single Step Back

Last November 2022, all members of OMEGA X held a press conference at the Seoul Bar Association Hall and disclosed the harm they suffered, including verbal abuse, physical assault, and forcible molestation by the former agency’s CEO. Attorney Noh Jong-eon, managing partner of Jonjae Law Firm, and Attorney Seo Ju-yeon represented them legally and filed for an injunction to suspend the effect of the exclusive contract, which the court granted in January 2023.

The court determined that "the trust relationship between OMEGA X and its agency had broken down, making it impossible to maintain a normal contractual relationship any longer." With this injunction victory, OMEGA X established a legal foundation to rise above their wounds and head back to the stage.

Then, in May 2023, after careful and lengthy discussions, both sides reached an agreement to terminate the exclusive contract.

Meaning of the Agreement — Full Restoration of Rights

With this settlement, OMEGA X obtained the following results.

All legal disputes have been concluded. With the termination of the exclusive contract, all lawsuits and dispute procedures between the two sides have been wrapped up.

OMEGA X now owns all intellectual property rights related to its past activities. This means the group’s identity and activity history are fully vested in the members.

OMEGA X has also secured ownership and operating rights for its SNS and fan club cafe. This ensures that the channels for communicating with fans can continue uninterrupted.

After careful and lengthy discussions, OMEGA X and our former agency, Spire Entertainment, mutually and amicably agreed to terminate our exclusive contract.

Accordingly, we have decided to end all disputes with our former agency, Spire Entertainment, and we will strive from our respective positions to contribute to the development of K-POP.

We sincerely thank everyone who worried about and believed in OMEGA X, and going forward OMEGA X plans to continue activities with the manager who has been with us through thick and thin since before our debut.
