In March 2020, a revision to the Civil Act that added grounds for disqualification and relaxed the requirements for recognizing a contributory share was submitted as a public petition. That’s right. It is the so-called 'Goo Hara Act', which many of you know.

Although some legal revisions were made, under the constitutional principle prohibiting retroactive legislation, they did not apply to the family case of the late Goo Hara. The late Goo Hara and her older brother, Goo Ho-in, lived relying only on each other for more than 20 years. Can a birth mother who did not support her children, and even gave up parental rights, really be called a mother? Can people really be called family just because they share blood? The issue of granting rights to someone who has not fulfilled their duties is something that must be discussed socially at least once.

'The Goo Hara Act' was the last gift from the late Goo Hara’s older brother, Goo Ho-in, to his younger sister, to help save heirs who are suffering from yet another pain, just as the name 'Goo Hara' suggests.
