After the holidays end, divorce filings double.

Why is that?

According to statistics from the Court Administration Office, the number of divorce filings received during the 10 days immediately after the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays ends surges by more than 120% compared with the usual daily average. In 2016, the usual daily average number of divorce filings was about 298, but the daily average during the 10 days before and after the holiday period reached 656.
